bio
Jalal Jemison was born in Santa Cruz, California. In 1999 Jalal received a BFA in film from UCSC and soon afterwards moved to Portland, Oregon with his band, A Great Divide. Jalal has spent the past few years working on various film and media projects through his companies, videominds and Yard VFX.
Recent work includes Lead Compositor for Thome Yorke’s music video Harrowdown Hill, directed by Chel White and produced by Bent Image Labs. Visual FX for Sasha’s Cohen’s Borat, and Visual Effects and Animation for Me and You and Everyone We Know, directed by Miranda July.
Jalal is currently promoting and scheduling festivals for his latest short, Brother Boy.
